Seasons and Celestial Bodies of Requiem
Seasons and Celestial bodies.
Hunter and Stag:
Requiem has two lunar bodies that orbit across the night sky. The stag cycles significantly faster than the hunter. The moons gained their name due to the trail that the stag leaves behind as it orbits resembling a wounded Stag. As the two moons orbit throughout the year their cycles can create significant events as the phases of the moons line up. Every 4 years the two moons align full moon phases during this time the Thinning occurs.
The Thinning
5-6 times every 4 years for 5 nights the people all over requiem must take shelter, as The Thinning occurs. Myth and Rumor state that the veils between the planes thin during this time allowing creatures of myth to step into the material plane and hunt. The people prepare for this time period by most cities, and villages having dedicated shelters and increased defenses that are installed at the beginning of the year prior to the first thinning. If these defenses fail, whole cities are known to have been leveled during this time.
Seasons
Requiem has the 4 major seasons of Summer, Winter, Fall and Spring. Different cultures may refer to the seasons using different names.
